About Swig
From a St. George drive-through in 2010 to America's dirty soda capital.
Ever wondered how the whole dirty soda thing started? It all comes back to one drive thru in St. George, Utah.
In 2010, Nicole Tanner set out to change the typical fountain drink experience. She wanted a place where you could pull up, get a customized drink and a great cookie, and never leave your car.
That idea became Swig, now known as the home of the original dirty soda.
The concept was simple. Swig took fountain favorites like Diet Coke or Dr Pepper and added flavor syrups, fruit purees, and creams.
Customers responded quickly, and the idea grew from there.
“We have become a part of people’s lives and their hearts.”

Today, Swig has grown from that one small shop in Utah to more than 170 locations in 17 states, according to Swig’s own franchising page and store locator (checked October 2026).
It has also become a viral hit on social platforms like TikTok, and drive thru lines are a familiar sight. Fans come for customized sodas, sparkling refreshers, and those soft pink frosted sugar cookies.
