Swig Franchise Information
Interested in joining the dirty soda revolution? Learn about the business model and estimated financial requirements for opening your own drive thru location.
We are an independent fan website and do not sell franchises. The financial figures below come from Swig Franchising LLC’s Franchise Disclosure Document (FDD), issued April 30, 2026 and filed via NASAA EFD.
For exact numbers and to apply, you must contact the official corporate team directly.
Per Swig’s 2026 FDD (Item 5). A lump sum, non-refundable fee due when you sign the agreement.
Per Swig’s 2026 FDD (Item 7). The estimated total initial investment for one traditional unit.
A 7% royalty and a 3% Marketing Fund Fee, each based on gross sales (Item 6). The royalty is paid weekly.
The Drive Thru Business Model
Swig’s model is built around customized beverages. Unlike a traditional restaurant, Swig keeps things simple: dirty sodas, pretzel bites, and cookies served through a fast drive thru window (see the Swig menu).
A short menu can mean less waste and quicker service.
Because the brand focuses almost entirely on drive thru operations, the physical footprint of the store stays small. A smaller building often means lower rent and fewer staff on each shift compared to a full sit down restaurant.
Franchise Fees and Ongoing Costs
Here are the key figures from Swig’s 2026 Franchise Disclosure Document. The initial franchise fee is $39,500.
It is a lump sum, non-refundable amount due when you sign the franchise agreement (Item 5). The estimated total initial investment for a single traditional unit ranges from $559,300 to $1,981,000 (Item 7).
Ongoing fees are straightforward. The royalty is 7% of gross sales, paid weekly.
The Marketing Fund Fee is 3% of gross sales. Note that the FDD calls it the Marketing Fund Fee, not a brand fund (Item 6).
You will also pay a Technology Fee of $100 per month and Software fees of $275 per month.
Multi-unit developers should know about two extra numbers. The area development fee is $116,500 for 3 to 4 stores, or $157,750 for 5 or more stores (Item 5).
The estimated total initial investment for an area development deal of at least 5 units ranges from $717,300 to $2,139,000. Every new store also carries a $10,000 Grand Opening Marketing obligation.
Your Territory
Swig grants a non-exclusive territory, usually a 1 to 3 mile radius. Within that territory, the franchisor will not establish another traditional unit using the Swig mark (Item 12).
Because the territory is non-exclusive, other types of Swig outlets may still appear nearby, so read the franchise agreement carefully.
What the Stores Earn: Item 19 Financials
Item 19 of the 2026 FDD reports 2025 data for 16 franchisee-operated traditional stores that were open for the full year. Average gross sales by quartile were $1,864,684, $1,611,359, $1,301,266, and $904,036.
Cost of goods sold ran about 29 to 34 percent of gross sales, labor ran about 24 to 29 percent, and store-level operating margin landed around 13 to 20 percent.
The FDD gives no net profit or EBITDA figure, so these numbers describe sales and store-level margins only.
Who Can Qualify
This next part does not come from the FDD. Swig’s website lists its own targets for multi-unit developers: liquid assets of $2,500,000, plus ownership or operation of 10 or more QSR or fast casual locations.
These are the company’s published goals, not legal requirements from the disclosure document.
How Big Is Swig Right Now
As of October 16, 2026, Swig’s official store locator lists 176 active locations, and Swig’s franchising page says 170+ locations in 17 states.
The 2026 FDD lists 143 units, but keep in mind that figure is a snapshot as of December 31, 2025. You can browse the Swig locations directory to see where stores are open.
All figures above come from Swig’s 2026 Franchise Disclosure Document, issued April 30, 2026, except where noted. Always confirm current terms directly with the corporate team before making any decision.
